The Centre for Contemporary Photography Leipzig

Photography has a long and rich tradition in Leipzig. That is why in 2006 creative artists from Leipzig founded the Zentrum für zeitgenössische Fotografie Leipzig e.V. (ZZF). With its diverse events and activities, ZZF offers a forum for discussion about the medium photography both to an expert audience and to a broad interested public.

In 2007, under the direction of Kristin Dittrich, ZZF organized the international Festival for photography f/stop for the first time and attracted more than 5000 visitors to the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei area. Another five festivals followed in the years 2008 to 2012. Since 2012 Christin Krause and Thilo Scheffler are curators and artistic directors of the festival.

Other than f/stop, ZZF organizes a monthly theme nights in order to convey and discuss about contemporary photography movements. In addition ZZF organizes workshops for learning new photographic techniques, studio visits and accompanying events to photography exhibitions in Leipzig and other cities.
